Should Maesbury have its own Parish Council?
In
1835 a local government act led to the creation of 16 'Townships' in the
Oswestry area, one of which was Maesbury Township. In 1894 some of these
townships were absorbed into Oswestry Town, the others were grouped together
as Oswestry Rural. The Rural Parish was divided into Wards, and the Maesbury
with Aston Ward of the Rural Parish is shown on the right.
