Most of the walk is along lanes and the gravel towpath, with three
short sections across fields.
This is a circular walk, apart from the optional extension to St.
Winifred's Well, so you can start at any point, and go in either
direction.
The links below go to pages giving some commentary about Maesbury's
history and heritage, more details of the route will be added soon....
- Wat's Dyke (the line
by the stream on the left of the map)
- The Montgomery Canal Towpath
(along the bottom of the map)
- Lanes, fields and the Turnpike
(the zig-zag on the right of the map)
- Optional detour to St. Winifred's
Well (the dotted path bottom right)
There are plenty of short-cuts back to your starting point, which
will be included in the detailed maps. This will allow to complete
the walk in sections if you prefer.
